We’re only just a few months into the official US release of the ROG Phone 7 and ROG Phone 7 Ultimate, and already there’s information popping up about the ROG Phone 8 Ultimate via benchmark details. Spotted by 91mobiles, the ROG Phone 8 Ultimate (listed as model number ASUS_AI2401_A) has shown up in a benchmark on Geekbench.

There are some snippets of specs details that paint a picture of what’s to come for the gaming flagship smartphone. Not the least of which is a new Snapdragon chipset. There’s also some information on RAM amount, OS version, and probably least important, the benchmark scores. Some of this of course is likely not going to be a huge surprise. At least not for those who are familiar with ASUS’s work on the ROG Phone brand and with the past phone models.

This is mostly because ASUS doesn’t deviate too much from its proven formula. It always tends to use the newest flagship Snapdragon chip available. Along with a large amount of RAM and a fairly new version of Android. The ROG 8 series isn’t likely to be any different. Keep in mind though that these are benchmark details. So nothing is certain or guaranteed as this isn’t a confirmation from ASUS.

ROG Phone 8 Ultimate benchmark suggests Snapdragon 8 Gen 3

The biggest detail here is the chipset. And based on the benchmark information, ASUS is going with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile platform that Qualcomm is going to be launching soon. The name of the chipset isn’t listed but it is using the same architecture of that chipset. Which splits up the 8 CPU cores into three clusters. One cluster houses one core, while the other two remaining clusters house 5 cores and 2 cores respectively.

The benchmark also shows that the device is running on Android 14 (no surprise there) and it has 14.95GB of RAM. Although a launch version of the phone is sure to be listed at 16GB as every other Ultimate or Pro model ROG Phone has been since the ROG Phone 3 series.

There’s not really much else of note here. But you can view the benchmark details including the scores in the image below.
