The Huawei MatePad Pro (2022) is a great-looking, productivity-focused tablet with plenty of software features.

Huawei had plenty to say at IFA 2022. The company announced a handful of new products, and amongst them, two tablets. Well, it’s the same tablet, but it comes in different sizes. We’re talking about the Huawei MatePad Pro (2022), which also received one of our IFA 2022 awards. The Huawei MatePad Pro (2022) comes in 11-inch and 12.6-inch sizes, so you can choose which one fits you best.

We’ve seen quite a few MatePad Pro devices thus far, and these sure are some of the best Android tablets on the market. As long as Google services are not a requirement for you, these tablets have plenty to offer, and they do feel truly premium. The same goes for the MatePad Pro (2022), as it’s quite similar to its predecessor, aesthetically. There is a reason we’ve opted to award it, read on.

Sleek-looking and ultra-thin

The Huawei MatePad Pro (2022) looks great. Huawei used premium materials here, of course, and its sides are flat. The bezels around its display are really thin, for a tablet, and the display is also flat, of course. A display camera hole is included in one of the corners, but considering the sheer size of the display on both models, it’s barely noticeable. This tablet is only 5.9mm thick, which is, needless to say, immensely thin.

Huawei actually managed to achieve a 92-percent screen-to-body ratio on the MatePad Pro (2022). Thanks to this, using this tablet is a truly immersive experience. You usually get considerably thicker bezels on tablets.

Gorgeous display & useful accessories

Regardless of whether you choose an 11-inch or a 12.6-inch variant of the tablet, you’ll be dealing with a gorgeous display. Each of these panels offers a 120Hz refresh rate, and they’re immensely sharp. They’re also quite bright, and have excellent color accuracy. On top of all that, these displays can display up to 1.07 billion colors. The touch response on previous MatePad Pro devices has been excellent, so we’re expecting the same here as well. The TÜV Rheinland Full Care Display 3.0 Certification is also a part of the package.

If you opt to use a stylus with this tablet, you’ll need to get one separately, but if you do, you can charge it magnetically. All you have to do is allow it to magnetize itself to the side of the tablet, and you’re good to go. That stylus can be quite useful for designers. On the flip side, there’s also a keyboard accessory, which magnetizes to the tablet, after which it also connects itself to it. This is a similar formula as before, you essentially end up with a small laptop this way.

The software factor

HarmonyOS which comes pre-installed on this tablet has a ton of productivity features. It allows you to create Widgets Stacks and Widget Groups, while multitasking is a breeze. Creating multi-window setups is really easy, and you can also throw windowed apps on top of such setups. Huawei’s Super Device enables easy connectivity between your Huawei devices as well, and makes things even more seamless. All in all, Huawei’s software has come a long way, and it’s especially useful on tablets.
