Apple is set to announce the new iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max in September, which is nearly eight months away, but that’s not stopping the leaks.

Recently, YouTuber AppleTrack released new concepts for the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, as well as plenty of details for the new devices. First up, we’re once again hearing that both devices are getting larger displays. So, the iPhone 16 Pro gets a 6.3-inch display, and the iPhone 16 Pro Max gets a 6.9-inch display. That’s a 0.2-inch larger display on both fronts, and the first display size increased in quite some time.

The reason for the larger displays likely comes down to needing more space for the cameras. On the iPhone 15 Pro series, Apple added the new tetraprism 5x telephoto camera to the iPhone 15 Pro Max only. This is likely due to the size of the iPhone 15 Pro. So make the phone a tiny bit bigger, and now you can bring that camera down to the smaller Pro model, which is exactly what is being rumored here. Apple is also set to reduce the size of the dynamic island on the iPhone 16 Pro models. It looks to be a hole punch for the camera that still grows to show different things like the dynamic island currently does.

A new Capture button is coming to the iPhone 16 Pro series

Yet another leak is showing that the Capture Button is coming to the iPhone 16 Pro series later this year. This is going to be placed further down on the phone so that when you’re holding the phone in landscape, it works as a shutter. The big reason for Apple doing this? Vision Pro. Apple already released Spatial Video capture on the iPhone 15 Pro series with the latest iOS 17 update, so adding a Capture Button to get more people shooting in Spatial is going to be a big move for the company.

Apple is reportedly working on solid-state buttons once again. That means you’ll get haptic feedback when you press the buttons. Apple had been working on this for the iPhone 15 series this past year, but it was reportedly shelved for that model.

The battery is also slated to get a tad larger in the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, around 2% larger on both models. That’s not a huge change, but that is about the same change that we see year-over-year from Apple. So, it sounds pretty accurate. We’ve also seen pictures of a 3555mAh capacity battery being used for the iPhone 16 Pro.

The iPhone 16 series is set to launch in September, so we’ve got about eight more months of leaks before it actually comes out. So things are likely going to change; stay tuned.
