BlackBerry Mobile’s official India YouTube page has just released a new promo video, this time around the company is teasing an unreleased product via this video, its very first wireless charger. A couple of months ago, Evan Blass hinted that the company may release a wireless charger in the near future by releasing some sketches containing that wireless charger, but that has not happened just yet, though based on the provided promo video, it may soon.

Renders of BlackBerry’s wireless charger shown in the provided promo video are actually identical to sketches that Mr. Blass released a while back, at least they seem to be. This wireless charger is actually not round, nor a rectangle, it actually has a shape of BlackBerry’s Secure shield, and it comes with two blue indicator lights on the side. It is not entirely clear where is the Type-C USB port, though, sketches suggested that it is on the top side of the charger, but we didn’t really get a chance to see it in BlackBerry’s video. This wireless charger comes with rubber padding on the bottom, just to keep it firmly attached to a table or some other surface, and we all know how important that is, as nobody wants to see a wireless charger sliding off the table with a smartphone that it is charging at the time.

Interestingly enough, BlackBerry did not announce this wireless charger just yet, though the company did release an ad for it, which is a bit confusing, but it surely means that the charger is coming in the near future. For those of you who do not know, BlackBerry actually announced the Evolve and EvolveX smartphones in India quite recently, even though they’re not available yet, so it’s possible that the BlackBerry Wireless Charger will launch once those two devices become available. The BlackBerry Wireless Charger will probably launch with the EvolveX, which supports wireless charging, which means it may arrive before the end of August, and it remains to be seen if it will become available in other markets as well.
