CES 2024 is in full swing. ASUS has already unveiled a host of new devices including the ROG laptops, the ROG Phone 8 series, and more. The Taiwanese brand has also announced a dual-screen laptop called the ZenBook Duo. However, this one is quite different compared to other dual-screen laptops in the company’s portfolio that feature a mini display above the keyboard deck.

ASUS adopts Lenovo Yoga Book 9i’s approach for the ZenBook Duo

ASUS is known for upping the ante on its laptops. Over the last few years, the brand has introduced Screenpad 2.0 doubling up as a multi-purpose touchscreen, a secondary display spanning the width of the laptop, and even the ZenBook 17 Fold. With the ZenBook Duo, the Taiwanese brand is once again raising the bar.

The ASUS ZenBook Duo is quite similar to Lenovo’s Yoga Book 9i. However, there are some slight differences between the two devices. ASUS’s offering has a detachable Bluetooth backlit keyboard with a built-in trackpad. Additionally, there is a built-in kickstand that is found missing on the Yoga Book 9i. The laptop can be used in various form factors including a mainstream standard mode with the bundled keyboard. The two screens can also be arranged vertically for dual-screen mode or horizontally for desktop mode by placing the detachable keyboard on the front of the system. This doubles up the screen space.

The ZenBook Duo also boasts two 14-inch Lumina OLED displays bearing a resolution of 3K pixels, 120Hz refresh rate, 500 nits peak brightness, and Dolby Vision. The second screen can also work as a virtual touchpad and keyboard with the onboard software. The laptop supports touch inputs and stylus. The ASUS ZenBook Duo screens are Pantone-validated and VESA Certified Display HDR True Black 500.

There is an integrated neural processing unit for AI-powered capabilities. The laptop packs up to 32GB RAM and 2TB SSD storage. It also features an advanced cooling system for heat dissipation.

The ZenBook Duo draws its power from a 75WHr battery unit that is claimed to offer 13 hours of usage in single-screen mode. It drops to 10.5 hours with dual-screen usage. The rest of the specifications of the laptop include IR camera with Windows Hello, Harman Kardon speakers, and MIL-STD 810H military-grade durability. Connectivity options include two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports. HDMI 2.1, USB 3.2 Gen 1 port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
