Season 3 of Diablo IV, called Season of the Construct, is due out in just under a week, and it’s adding some promising content that should keep players engaged for another month or two. It might even reinvigorate the desire to play for anyone who’s dropped off.

As is the case with season 1 and season 2, Season 3 of Diablo IV will follow a specific theme. This time around it centers around Zoltun Kulle, a familiar name icon in the Diablo lore. Blizzard is technically bringing him back for this new season, though not in the way you might think. Based on the trailer the studio released this week and its official blog post, it doesn’t sound like Zoltun Kulle will be a character you interact with. Not directly. Instead, the season focuses Zoltun Kulle’s many different machinations, which he has abandoned over time and are now being controlled by malevolent forces. And you guessed it, it will be your job to stop them.

Season of the Construct will begin on January 23 and go live at 10am PST on all platforms. Including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. So mark your calendars if you’re planning to dive in on launch day.

Diablo IV season 3 gives you a mechanized companion that can fight alongside you

No matter your favorite classes to play in games, it can always be fun to have a companion fighting at your side. Season of the Construct will give you just that. These mechanized battle bots are called Seneschal Companions and they can fight alongside you in two different ways. They can aid you from the sidelines, or engage enemies directly as a core part of fights.

How they help with battles will depend on how you build them. Blizzard has added ‘Governing Stones’ and ‘Tuning Stones’ that you can slot into these companions, and these will be associated with various abilities that change how the companion works. Governing Stones will be more about direct combat abilities while Tuning Stones are designed to add utility to it. You can have two Governing Stones equipped and six Tuning Stones. But there are also 12 total Governing Stones and 27 Tuning Stones to acquire and use. So you’ll need to experiment and find your preference that works with your unique seasonal build.

Blizzard is also adding a new dungeon type for players to test their skills. ‘Vaults’ will have players test their skills against various elemental dangers with each vault being associated with a specific hazard. Additionally, Blizzard is adding some quality-of-life improvements with season 3, including enhanced movement with WASD and an extra stash tab. You can read about all of the seasonal changes in Blizzard’s official post.
