Nokia has started rolling out the Android 12 update to one of its most affordable phones. The device in question is the Nokia 2.4. This handset launched back in September 2020, and it’s truly an entry-level smartphone.
If you live in the US, chances are you can find this phone at an under $150 price tag. Nokiamob reports that the update started rolling out in France, but according to reports from Nokia’s official forum, users in Pakistan are also getting it.

All in all, it seems like a global rollout started, and it will spread constantly. So, chances are that the phone in your region will get the update soon, if it hasn’t already, so stay tuned for that.
The update itself weighs around 1.75GB, and it does come with an Android security patch for April 2022. Considering that Nokia prefers to keep a clean build of Android on its phones, this build will be close to stock Android.
You will be getting all the major Android 12 features that are not Pixel-exclusive. It’s nice to see that entry-level phones are also getting Android 12, that’s for sure. We’re not sure if this thing will be getting Android 13, but it’s possible. HMD Global will likely clear things up later this year.
The Nokia 2.4 has a rather thin ‘chin’ below the display, with Nokia’s logo on it. It also comes with a waterdrop display camera hole, and a rear-facing fingerprint scanner.

The device utilizes a 6.5-inch HD+ LCD display, while it is fueled by the MediaTek Helio P22 SoC. It comes in 2GB and 3GB RAM models which come with 32GB and 64GB of storage, respectively.
A 13-megapixel main camera sits on the back of the phone, along with a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The company also included a 4,500mAh battery here, though without fast charging.
The Nokia 2.4 actually shipped with Android 10 at first, so this is the second major Android update that the device is getting.
