Nokia G400 5G Unveiled At CES May Go On Sale With A New Name

An unannounced Nokia smartphone supposedly called the Nokia Style+ has been appearing on various certification platforms lately. We spotted it on the Wi-Fi Alliance and FCC websites over the past few weeks. But it appears the Style+ isn’t a new or unannounced phone. It’s the Nokia G400 5G that the company unveiled at CES 2022 in January, alongside four other 4G budget smartphones.

Almost six months since its unveiling, the Nokia G400 has yet to make its market debut. The company had said it plans to start shipping the device in Q2 2022, i. e. between April and June. But with just a few days left of June now, that’s unlikely to happen. Perhaps rumors are that the Nokia G400 may not arrive until November this year.

Moreover, the new phone may debut with an entirely different name, neither Nokia G400 nor Nokia Style+. The folks over at Nokiapoweruser expect it to arrive as the Nokia G40 or Nokia G41. They recently spotted a user guide for the phone on the official Nokia website (which seems to be deleted now). It contained a reference to the “Style+” codename along with model numbers TA-1448, TA-1476 & N1530DL.

The “TA-1448” appeared on the FCC, Wi-Fi Alliance, and China Quality Certification (CQC) websites recently. The “N1530DL,” meanwhile, will be the US variant of the phone and was leaked in renders back in 2021. It appears Nokia has had the phone in development for almost a year now, with a market launch not in the sight yet. However, whenever it arrives, the Nokia G400/Style+/G40/G41 could be a great value proposition. Let us tell you why.

This Nokia G400 punches well above its weight

Priced at $239, the Nokia G400 (let’s call it that for the time being) is an entry-level 5G smartphone. But it has a lot in its offering and easily punches above its weight. For starters, it sports a 6.5-inch LCD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. When the phone was first announced, no other Nokia device had its screen refreshing that fast.

Additionally, you are getting a 5,000mAh battery with 20W fast charging, a 48-megapixel triple camera setup at the back, a 16-megapixel selfie camera, up to 6GB of RAM, and up to 128GB of internal storage. The phone will likely be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 480+ 5G processor and will come with Android 12 out of the box. We will let you know when we have more concrete information about the market release of the Nokia G400.
