We’re about 10 months away from the launch of the Google Pixel 9, yet we’ve already gotten a pretty huge leak showcasing what this phone could potentially look like. We previously saw the Pixel 9 Pro in a gray color. Now, we have yet another slew of leaks including images and a video showcasing the Pixel 9 in an amazing blue color. This comes just hours after we saw a leak of the Pixel 8a.

Since this leak is coming so early in the year, you’ll definitely want to take it very cautiously. There’s always the chance that we’re looking at a pre-production render or just the concept. The actual Pixel 9 could look very different. Just keep that in mind.

We have new leaked renders of the Google Pixel 9 in a beautiful blue color

Looking at the readers that we have so far, it looks like Google is straying a bit away from the design mentality we saw with the Google Pixel 6, Pixel 7, and Pixel 8. However, it doesn’t stray so far as to completely shed its “Google-ness”. We can still clearly see that this is inspired by Google’s modern Pixel design language.

The most notable thing is the fact that Google seems to have ditched the crossbody camera visor. Instead, we see a standalone pill-shaped camera package that juts directly from the body. It’s as if Google took the camera visor in the Pixel Fold and filed it down. Looking at the renders, it appears that the package sticks out rather far from the body. However, this could be one of the situations where you have to get the device in your hand before you can really know how far it sticks out.

In the renders that we got, we see the phone in this stunning blue color. It reminds us of The Bay Blue color that we got with the Pixel 8 Pro.

Other differences

What’s notable is the fact that we are most likely looking at the base Pixel 9 variant and not the Pro variant. This is significant because we see a triple camera setup in the renders. The base Pixel 6, Pixel 7, and Pixel 8 phones all have dual camera setups. However, it appears that Google is bringing a camera upgrade to the base model with the next iteration.

Another notable difference is the flat frame. The current Pixel phones have rounded frames. With the flatter frame, this will make the Pixel 9 resemble a modern Galaxy S Series phone or an iPhone.

Looking at the renders, it appears that Samsung will be using matte glass for this device as opposed to the glossy glass we got with previous generations. That’s just in the render, so there’s no telling if that’s what the company is going to settle on.

According to the report, the dimensions for the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro will be pretty similar to the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. So, that’s one thing that won’t change, possibly.
