What is the Roborock H7?

The Roborock H7 is a cordless stick vacuum. It’s the follow up to its first cordless stick vacuum, the H6 launched in 2020. While most of us know Roborock for its robot vacuums, it does make other products, like this cordless stick vacuum. While it competes with the likes of iRobot, Neato and others in the robot vacuum space, in the cordless stick vacuum space it has even bigger competitors like Dyson. Whom it seems Roborock is really bringing the competition to, these days.

What features does it have?

The Roborock H7 doesn’t have as many features as one of its robot vacuums might have, since it doesn’t connect to the internet, nor does anything on its own. But it does have a pretty healthy amount of features included. Let’s go over them.

Powerful 160AW suction

This is one of the updates compared to the H6, as the H7 is now even more powerful at 160AW. Versus 140AW on the H6. This means that it is going to be able to pick even more dirt and dust off of the ground in your home. It has a 480W motor that creates the 160AW of constant suction power. This is especially useful for carpets, beds and upholstery, where dirt and dust can be very stubborn.

You’ll really notice the difference when vacuuming in “Max” mode, which doesn’t last quite as long as it did on the H6. On the H6 you could vacuum in max mode for about 10 minutes, whereas the H7 is rated at 8 minutes. This isn’t so much because the battery can’t handle it, but because the motor is so powerful.

Roborock H7: Dust Bag

Support for dust bags

The fact that the Roborock H7 cordless stick vacuum supports dust bags is a bit interesting. It’s definitely a big deal for those with allergies. But instead of the H7 being bagless, you can opt to use the dust bags – there are two included in the box. There is an adapter that you’ll need to install, then you can attach the dust bag and you’re good to go.

To empty the dust bag, just slide the tab and it’ll close off the hole. Then you’re free to throw it away. There are only two included in the box, but that should last you a good little while. Considering it took me three times vacuuming to really fill up the first one (and that includes tons of dog hair), and even then it wasn’t completely full.

This is great for those those with allergies, as you can keep the allergens in the dust bag, instead of putting them back in the air.

Roborock H7: Charging

Long battery life & Quick recharging

Perhaps one of the toughest things to do with a cordless stick vacuum is to make it lightweight, but still make the battery big enough to last enough to do a decent vacuuming. On top of that, make the vacuum powerful enough to be worth using. Somehow, Roborock has done that with the H7.

The Roborock H7 can last up to 90 minutes in Eco mode. Or 45 minutes in normal mode and 8 minutes in max mode. That’s long enough to clean your entire home – unless you have a huge mansion, then you definitely want a robot vacuum. The OLED display on the H7 can also show you how long you have left of cleaning before the battery runs out. Which is quite impressive when you think about it.

It’s lightweight and agile

As mentioned in the previous section, Roborock had to make the H7 lightweight, otherwise it would be cumbersome to use and most people wouldn’t use it. Somehow, Roborock was able to keep the weight down, coming in at just 3.2lbs or 1.46kg. Which makes it easy to lift, maneuver and reach the tricky areas. Because it is so light, it makes it easy to use it to clean your blinds, air vents and even the spider webs that appear in the corner of the rooms in our homes.

Roborock H7 Magbase

Magbase Accessories

One of the cooler updates to the Roborock H7 is the new Magbase and its accessories. So instead of having a longer base that attaches to the wall and having the accessories snap into place, this time Roborock made the base thinner and magnetic. Making it easier to attach the accessories to the base. And they can go pretty much anywhere too. Including anywhere else that has magnets, like the refrigerator.

This new base takes up less space, so you can put it into a corner and forget about it. And it gives you plenty of space in case you purchase other accessories. Like the mop head that is going to be available in the future.

Roborock H7’s filter is washable!

Washable and reusable filter

This feature is actually not new to the H7, or really any of Roborock’s products. All of its robot vacuums also include a washable filter. But this means that you can wash the filter and continue to reuse it. It’s a good idea to wash the filter pretty regularly, as that is going to keep the H7 performing at its peak, and picking up all of that dirt, dust, hair and other debris.

The H7 is super simple to take apart, and just wash with cold water. Let it sit and dry, we’d recommend letting it air dry for 24 hours to make sure it is dry before using it in the H7. As a wet filter could cause some other issues.

Does it work with the Roborock app?

No.

The Roborock H7 is not a smart cordless stick vacuum, so it does not work with the Roborock app, or even connect to your internet. It’s just a simple cordless stick vacuum that is powerful. Which is really nice actually. Considering these days we have so many products that are connected to the internet. It’s good to have one that doesn’t need the internet.

What does the Roborock H7 cordless stick vacuum look like?

The Roborock team did a great job designing the H7 cordless stick vacuum actually. It’s not fancy looking, but does look very modern. It has a clear canister so you can see how full it is, and see when to empty it. As well as seeing how dirty the filter module is.

The H7 has an OLED display on the handle, which is actually a really neat addition. Even though it might sound like it’s not needed. This display can show you different things like the mode you’re in, how much time is left on the battery, and whether you have it locked or not. Roborock has an option to lock the H7, so you don’t need to hold the trigger down all the time. There’s also a button that will allow you to switch modes – from Eco to Normal to Max.

Below the trigger is a lever that can be used to open the dust bin. And on the very bottom of the H7, there is another slider that will allow the motor to be removed from the canister. This is so you can wash and/or replace the filter when needed.

On the back of the H7 is the charging port. But you should just use the base, which uses the contacts on the bottom side of the H7. Making it easier to charge.

How much is the Roborock H7?

The Roborock H7 is going to cost $499 when it goes on sale in July 2021. So far, we do not have a specific release date for the Roborock H7 cordless stick vacuum. But as we get closer to July, we should hear a more concrete release date.

This is a really good price for the Roborock H7, considering a comparable model from Dyson would cost around $700-$800. Much like its robot vacuums, Roborock is here bringing us a really great product, at a lower price than its more popular competitors.

Where can I buy the Roborock H7?

Much like the rest of the Roborock products, it will be available exclusively at Amazon. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to buy it elsewhere like Best Buy, Walmart or even Roborock’s own website.

What accessories are available for the Roborock H7?

So far, Roborock has not announced all of the accessories that are available for the H7. But we do know that they will be selling extra dust bags, and the mop head separately. There’s no word on pricing for either of those yet, and since the H7 is not actually available to buy yet, that’s not a big surprise.

What comes in the box?

Roborock does include a pretty good amount of accessories in the box with the H7. Here’s the full list of what is included in the box:

  • Roborock H7
  • Manual
  • Power supply
  • Magbase dock
  • 2 Dust bags
  • Dust bag holder
  • Multi-Surface Brush
  • Baton
  • Motorized Mini Brush
  • Flex Tube
  • Dusting Brush
  • Crevice Tool

Should I buy the Roborock H7?

There are very few reasons not to buy the Roborock H7. As we noted in our review of the Roborock H7 already, it is a really great cordless stick vacuum, and at a really great price too. The suction on this one is impressive, and it also offers some really great battery life. Which is a great combination.

Now if you already own a robot vacuum you may be wondering if it’s worth it to get the Roborock H7. And our answer is yes. The Roborock H7 is a really great compliment to one of Roborock’s robot vacuums – like the S6 MaxV or the new S7. It’s just quicker to pull out the H7 to clean up messes. And it’s also easier to clean other surfaces. Like your couch. The S7 can’t clean your couch, but the H7 with the crevice tool can do a really great job with that.

At its price point, the H7 does seem pretty expensive, but when you look at the competition, the $499 price tag is actually very reasonable. And it’s going to last you for years too.
