The Samsung Galaxy S24 is the most compact smartphone in the new Galaxy S24 series, and we’re here to take a look at its specifications. This handset launched today alongside the Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 is not the most powerful phone in the series, but it has great specifications nonetheless
This smartphone is fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in some markets and the Exynos 2400 in other markets. Qualcomm’s chip does fuel it in most markets, including the US. The Exynos 2400 is in use throughout Europe, however.
Samsung’s most compact device includes a 6.2-inch fullHD+ (2340 x 1080) Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel. That display is flat, and it’s a ‘Super Smooth’ panel. We’re looking at an LTPO display with an adaptive refresh rate (1-120Hz). Vision booster is also included in the package, while the panel is protected by the Gorilla Glass Victus Armor.
Samsung included 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM inside of the device. 128GB and 256GB UFS 4.0 flash storage options are on offer. Do note that you cannot expand the storage inside of the Galaxy S24, though.
25W wired charging is supported in addition to 15W wireless charging
There is also a 4,000mAh battery included on the inside of this phone. The device supports 25W wired charging, but a charger is not included in the retail box. You’ll only find a cable there. Fast Wireless Charging 2.0 (15W) is also on offer, as is Wireless PowerShare (reverse wireless charging).
There are three cameras on the back of the Galaxy S24. A 50-megapixel main camera (f/1.8 aperture, OIS, f/1.8 aperture, 85-degree FoV) leads the pack. A 12-megapixel ultrawide camera (f/2.2 aperture, 120-degree FoV) is also included, as is a 10-megapixel telephoto camera (f/2.4 aperture, 36-degree FoV, 3x optical zoom). On the front, you’ll find a 12-megapixel selfie shooter (f/2.2 aperture 80-degree FoV).
Android 14 comes pre-installed with Samsung’s One UI 6.1 on top of it
Android 14 comes pre-installed on the Galaxy S24. On top of Google’s OS, Samsung included its own skin, One UI 6.1. The Galaxy S24 is also IP68 certified for water and dust resistance, in case you were wondering.
Bluetooth 5.3 is supported here, and the same goes for Wi-Fi 6E. The device includes a set of stereo speakers and supports Dolby Atmos as well.
The phone launched in seven colors overall
Samsung announced seven colors for the Galaxy S24. Four are standard colors, while three are Samsung Store (online) exclusives. The standard colors are Amber Yellow, Cobalt Violet, Marble Gray, and Onyx Black. Samsung Store exclusives are Jade Green, Sandstone Orange, and Sapphire Blue.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 measures 147 x 70.6 x 7.6mm, while it weighs 167 grams.
