Vanilla Apple 16 models could get a RAM boost, claims an analyst. This information comes from Jeff Pu, an analyst for Haitong International Securities. He claims that both the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will get a RAM boost.

The two devices will allegedly get 8GB of RAM, compared to 6GB of RAM inside the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro will also ship with 8GB of RAM, by the way.

The vanilla models are also tipped to include Wi-Fi 6E, thus making Wi-Fi faster. That’s a feature that both the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max already have, so it’s not new for iPhones.

Jeff Pu also mentioned that the iPhone 16 Pro models will get Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X75 5G modem. The iPhone 15 series utilized the Snapdragon X70 model, in case you were wondering. Do note that the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will not get this upgrade.

The entire series will drop in September

Needless to say, all iPhone 16 series models are expected to arrive in September. That’s when Apple usually launches its new smartphones, so there you have it. We’re still a long time away from that point, though. The iPhone 15 series is still kind of fresh.

The iPhone 16 series won’t exactly bring anything earth-shattering to the table. Many reports suggested that will happen, and one of the more recent ones even flat-out said we’ll get “very little” change.

The devices will likely look very similar to their predecessors too. The iPhone 16 Pro will get a Tetraprism lens, like the iPhone 15 Pro Max. You can also expect slightly larger displays to be included.

We’re sure that more tidbits will leak out moving forward, as there’s still plenty of time before the devices launch. So stay tuned for that, who knows, perhaps Apple will surprise us.
