Featured image for Verizon Fios debuts 2 Gig Internet for $95/month

Today, Verizon has announced that it is adding a new plan to its Fios service. Now, customers will be able to get 2 Gig Internet plans, starting at $94.99 per month, with autopay and select 5G mobile plans. Fios also includes a four-year price guarantee. This price also includes a Fios router, and up to three WiFi extenders at no extra charge.

This is part of Verizon Fios trying to compete with AT&T and Comcast. Both of which have added multi-Gig internet plans in recent months. AT&T Fiber actually offers up to 10Gbps, and so does Comcast. So Verizon still has a bit of a way to go here. And Fios 2 Gig plan is only available in parts of NYC. So not everyone can get it. But keep in mind that Verizon Fios is not available everywhere, mostly only on the east coast.

Verizon is also expanding coverage for its 5G Home Internet service

Verizon has also announced today, that its 5G Home Internet service is going to be expanding to Colorado Springs, CO, Monroe County, NY, and Bradenton and West Palm Beach-area, FL. So those in that area can now experience 5G Home Internet Service. It is also expanding 5G business Internet in those areas.

Verizon offers 5G Home Internet plans starting at just $25 per month with autopay and a select 5G mobile plan. There’s no extra fees, equipment charges, annual contracts nor a data cap.

Verizon’s 5G Business Internet is the ultra-fast wireless business internet powered by 5G Ultra Wideband. This is available for businesses of all sizes and includes professional installation, multiple pricing and service options, along with unlimited data. There’s also a 10-year price guarantee.

So big news for Verizon on the home internet front, definitely bigger news for those in NYC. As those 2 Gig plans from Fios are 2Gbps up and down.
